SATINWOOD
Satinwood is a unique group that performs a wide range of fully arranged acoustic pop classics.
From the music of Harry Chapin and James Taylor to Sting and the Neville Brothers, Satinwood takes the listener on a journey through years of memorable and inspiring favorites. The group is dedicated to achieving authenticity in terms of the string arrangements, rhythms and vocal quality of each song. 
Paul and Melanie Motter

Paul is a versatile guitarist and vocalist, known for his knack of closely emulating the style of various artists and lending a genuine realism to the concert recreations.  

Melanie is an accomplished pianist and does backup vocals. The group’s arranger and director, she has an extensive background in jazz and classical music.

They co-founded the band and have performed together for over twenty years.

 

Joe Fitzpatrick

Jopey joined us as percussionist for the Gordon Lightfoot Tribute, and has taken on our entire repertoire when he finds time away from his ‘rock roots’ band Trailer Park.

 

Eric Roth

Eric Roth studied Cello at the Boston Conservatory and the University of Massachusetts. He has played with Orchestras and Chamber Groups in Boston, down under in beautiful New Zealand, and now, the Pioneer Valley. Eric enjoys playing popular and folk styles of music. He has both performed and recorded with such bands as Treefort, (which has become Big Yellow Wooly Trousers), Sidewalk Gallery (from Boston), Dizrhythmia (New Zealand), and Holidays in Sweden (Chicago)

 

 

  Rudi Weeks

Rudi has been a professional musician and teacher of music for over twenty years. He has performed with such Motown greats as "The Contours," "The Crests," and "Ronnie Spector", and Folk and Bluegrass legends Tom "Paxton" and "Tony Trisca".   He also toured internationally with the "Dirty Dancing Concert Tour."

His extensive free-lance performance and recording experience includes projects with over thirty ensembles, performing styles that range from Classical, Big Band Swing, Jazz; to "World Beat," R&B, Funk, and Rock.

He served as a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Performing Arts Division and teaches currently in his home and is an adjunct bass faculty member for Amherst College, and Holyoke Community College Music Department. He is also a 7 year veteran of the highly acclaimed Andean influenced world music group, "Viva Quetzal".

 

   

Jon Weeks
The latest addition to our Acoustic Classics Show® , Jon is an outstanding woodwinds artist (sax & flute) who also plays congas with the band. Yep.. he’s Rudi’s brother!
